Kenneth L. Gonzalez, Esq.

Kenneth L. Gonzalez has been a proud resident of the City of Perth Amboy almost his entire life and has an extensive resume of community involvement.  Mr. Gonzalez attended Perth Amboy High School where he graduated with honors in 1987.  After high school, Mr. Gonzalez graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kean University where he earned a B.A. in Political Science in 1992.  During his college years, he also served as a part time Legislative Aide to Assemblyman Ernest L. Oros, who represented the 19th District in the State Assembly.

In 1995, Mr. Gonzalez graduated from Rutgers University School of Law at Camden where he earned his Juris Doctor degree.  After graduating from law school, he served as Judicial Law Clerk to Superior Court Judge Hector E. DeSoto.  From 1996 until 2001, Mr. Gonzalez worked as an attorney associated with the Law Offices of Rabb, Hamill & Stillman in Woodbridge, N.J.  In 2001, Mr. Gonzalez formed the Law Offices of Kenneth L. Gonzalez & Associates in Perth Amboy, N.J. where he continues to represent private clients in general legal matters including personal injury, real estate, and various other areas.

In 1999 Mr. Gonzalez was elected by the voters of Perth Amboy to serve on the Perth Amboy Board of Education where he served until 2010.  He served as vice-president of the Board of Education from 2002 until 2008 when he was elected by his fellow members as president of the Board.  Mr. Gonzalez served as president of the Board of Education until 2010 when he ran for his seat on the Perth Amboy City Council.

Mr. Gonzalez served on the Perth Amboy City Council from 2010 until 2014.  Mr. Gonzalez also served as a Commissioner on the Perth Amboy Redevelopment Agency which oversees development of areas of the City in need of redevelopment from 2011 until 2014.  Mr. Gonzalez also previously served on the Advisory Board of the Perth Amboy Salvation Army, the Perth Amboy High School Hall of Fame Selection Committee and also serves as chairman of the Perth Amboy High School Class of 1987 Reunion Committee.
